Class of 2022 Highlight: Richard Seymour

The sixth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, a long five years of eligibility and a four-time Hall of Fame finalist, Richard Seymour is headed to Canton as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2022.
Richard Seymour Career Bio
Seymour played 164 games, both at defensive end and defensive tackle for the New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders. He is highly considered as one of the most valuable defensive players in all 102 years of the NFL and is properly acknowledged for his contribution to the Patriots’ early success.
Being with the New England Patriots for eight seasons from 2001 to 2008, Seymour played a vital role to secure six division titles, four conference championships, and three Super Bowl rings for the organization. At this same time, Richard Seymour was a valuable asset when the Patriots went 16-0 in 2007, the only time that has ever happened in NFL history.
In 2009, Seymour was traded to the Oakland Raiders where he played for four more seasons with continued success before retirement.
During his 12 seasons, Seymour recorded 496 total tackles, 324 solo tackles, and 57.5 sacks. Also, he has three or more sacks in all but one season during his years. He was able to accomplish 39 pass deflections, six fumble recoveries, four forced fumbles, two interceptions, and one fumble returned for a touchdown.
This August, Richard Seymour will become the 10th Patriot to be recognized in Canton as a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
