We are one step closer to finding out who will be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2017. The nominees have now been reduced to 15 Modern-Era finalists, seven of whom are finalists for the first time. The finalists were chosen by the Hall of Fame’s Selection Committee from a list of 94 nominees that was reduced to 26 semifinalists.
These 15 Modern-Era finalists will join the Senior Finalist and two Contributor Finalists to be considered for election to the Hall of Fame when the Selection Committee meets on the day before Super Bowl LI to determine the new class.
The new class will be announced during “NFL Hours,” a two-hour primetime awards special to air nationally on the eve of the Super Bowl from 8:00 to 10:00 pm (ET and PT) on FOX.
